Driven mechanic has bright future
By
A YOUNG Hatfield car mechanic is learning his trade with some of the best in the business at a 4x4 dealership.
Josh Caswell from Howe Dell has only just turned 16 but he is already making an impression with his colleagues at HR Owen dealership in Great North Road, Hatfield.
Josh is fast learning all the skills he needs to become a qualified mechanic at the dealership, which sells Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles. He was snapped up to become an apprentice at the dealer as soon as he left Onslow St Audrey's School after making a good impression while there on work experience.
Service manager Andy Ford said: "Josh may only be 16 years old but what he lacks in age in makes up for in enthusiasm and skill.
"It's very encouraging to see someone with such a willingness to learn and I'm sure he has a bright future in the industry."
Josh is going to have to complete three years of tough training to gain his full Chrysler Group service technician accreditation, but says he is looking forward to the challenge.
He said: "I've always had my heart set on working with cars, so to get this opportunity is fantastic. Everyone here has been very friendly and helpful, so much so that I can't wait to get to work every morning."
