A REQUEST from Wood End Primary School, founded in September 1965, which is holding its 40th birthday celebrations later on this year.

Organiser Anna Batt would like to know: "Were any readers among the first pupils to walk through the doors?

"We would be delighted to hear from anyone who has memories of those first days at Wood End, any memorable events that occurred, or maybe even has photographs they would be willing to show us.

"There will be a programme of events to mark the 40th birthday which will be detailed on the school website www.woodend.herts.sch.uk"
