University open day help for students
By

IF you have not yet chosen your degree course, don't panic.

The University of Hertfordshire is holding an open day next Wednesday for people who have missed the main deadline for applying for courses and says there are still course places available Students can still apply for university places through UCAS Extra and the university says it is still considering applications for most of its full-time degree programmes.

At the open day prospective students will be able to take tours of the campus, listen to introductory talks on a wide range of course subjects and find out about accommodation, sports facilities and student life.

There will also be financial advice on scholarships, bursaries and the new tuition fee system.

Ross Renton from the university's education liaison office said: "Going on to higher education can open up a whole range of opportunities for people, but deciding where and what to study is often a daunting task with so many decisions to make.

"This open day aims to give people a real impression of life at university and therefore hopefully make the decision easier, especially for thosewho may not come from a family with a tradition of going to university."

The open day is on Wednesday, June 21, from 11am until 3pm at the de Havilland campus.

To pre-register go to www.herts.ac.uk or telephone .
