Cadet centre break-in

SEA CADETS who were looking forward to another weekend sailing last month were disappointed to find that their unit had been broken into overnight.

Sea Cadets who discovered the break-in at their unit, behind Westminster Lodge, , were still determined to compete in sail racing, winning the Bosun and Topper races. Vandals caused more than £1,000 damage by setting off fire extinguishers and smashing printers.

Since then, the cadets have gone on to win all categories in a district canoe competition which has qualified them to compete at the area championships later this month. Sea Cadets is open to girls and boys aged between ten and 17. For details visit lwww.seacadetfun.com
