Katy Perry's debut single I Kissed a Girl has held on to the number one spot in the charts for the fifth week running, The Official Charts Company said.
The American former gospel singer's track I Kissed a Girl, penned by 90s popstar Cathy Dennis, has been in the top spot since knocking off Kid Rock's All Summer Long on August 10.
Eric Prydz's Pjanoo also remains stable at number two while Rihanna's Disturbia slips down a place to number four to make way for the new Pussycat Dolls single, When I Grow Up, in at number three.
When I Grow Up has forced almost all of the top 10 singles down one spot or more. Script's The Man Who Can't Be Moved moves down one place to number five, All Summer Long by Kid Rock moves down to spot seven and Biffy Clyro's Mountains loses three spots and moves to number eight. Madcon, however, moves up a place this week with Beggin' to take sixth position.
New entries in the top 20 this week are Gym Class Heroes ft. The Dream's track Cookie Jar in at number 16 and Paddy's Revenge by Steve Mac in at number 17. And Miley Cyrus is a notable climber in this week's charts. Her single See You Again jumps up nine spots from 23 last week to 14 this week.
In the album chart, Forth, The Verve's first album in over a decade, retains its number one spot while Irish three-piece The Script's self-titled album moves up one place to number two.
King of Pop, Michael Jackson's 'best of' album, jumps up two places from number five last week to number three this week.
Both Duffy and Rihanna's albums also climbed. Duffy's Rockferry moved from number four to number seven and Rihanna's Good Girl Gone Bad reached number five, up from 11th place.
Miley Cyrus's new album Breakout entered the album chart at number 10 while the Chemical Brothers came in just one spot behind her at number 11 with their new album Brotherhood - The Definitive Singles.
